Healdsburg Community Band and Cloverdale CARE Foundation Present - “Songs of the Sea” Cloverdale, CA—April 9, 2018—It has been said that music has the power to bring people together, and that is exactly the goal of the Healdsburg Community Band and the Cloverdale CARE Foundation. On May 11, 2018, the Healdsburg Community Band will play a benefit concert titled “Songs of the Sea,” including performances by the Cloverdale High School Wind Ensemble and Coro de Paz, Cloverdale’s community peace choir for children.
“When Jim DeMartini and his colleagues from the Healdsburg Community Band reached out to us regarding a concert partnership to support Cloverdale’s students, we were immediately on board,” says Joanne Parker, President of the CARE Foundation. “Mr. Collins and his high school ensemble and Janice Hawthorne Timm and her community choir quickly and enthusiastically joined up. This performance will be a wonderful collaboration of musicians and a great opportunity to share our mission, including the support of music in the schools.” CARE, an acronym for Cloverdale Adds Resources for Education, is a privately funded, non-profit which supports the Cloverdale Unified School District to provide educational experiences for CUSD students through assistance and partnerships.
